Basophil Activation Test (BAT)
The Basophil Activation Test (BAT) is being used more and more frequently due to its sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis and monitoring of allergies, especially those caused by inhaled allergens, hymenoptera venoms, latex, and some foods or drugs.
BAT is a functional assay based on the calculation of the percentage of basophils activated after blood incubation with the allergens under study. Flow Cytometry allows for the identification of activated basophils within the total population circulating in blood in a quick, sensitive and easy way.
Cytognos offers optimal reagents to perform the Basophil Activation Tests.
