Webinar – Blood Monocyte subsets in clinical practice (2020/08/27) – 11:00 AM CEST
August 27, 2020 @ 11:00 - 12:00 UTC+1
Do you want to learn the importance of monitoring blood monocyte subset with a standardized flow cytometry methodology?
Several studies have identified relevant changes in relative and absolute numbers of circulating monocytes / macrophages in the aftermath of several clinical settings, especially involving tissue damage. For this reason, peripheral blood monitoring represents a sensitive test for the detection and quantification of the different subsets of monocytes.
Invited speaker: Daniela Damasceno
University of Salamanca
Department of Medicine and General Cytometry Service
Our invited speaker, Daniela Damasceno will share with you:
- Why do we need to study blood monocytes by flow cytometry.
- Monitoring monocyte subsets in clinical practice:
- Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML)
- Coronary artery disease
- Other applications in tissue damage and blood monocytes reference values.
- Flow cytometry analysis of a healthy donor using Infinicyt 2.0 software.
Daniela Damasceno works for the Cytometry Service of the University of Salamanca and is also a researcher for the PERISCOPE and TiMaScan projects. She is currently in her last year of doctoral thesis related to the analysis of circulating tissue macrophages by flow cytometry. Daniela has a degree in Biomedical Sciences, a master’s degree in Molecular Biomedicine and a master’s degree in Cancer Biology. She is also a Medicine student since 2017.
