Webinar – Dissecting the heterogeneity of Common Variable Immunodeficiencies using flow cytometry – 5 PM CEST
September 29, 2021 @ 17:00 - 18:00 UTC+2
Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) is one of the most frequently diagnosed primary immunodeficiencies, mainly in adults, characterized by impaired production of antibodies and hypogammaglobulinemia, resulting in increased susceptibility to infections. Flow cytometry is a very valuable technique in the diagnosis and classification of this disease.
In this webinar, Martín Pérez Andrés, PhD will explain:
- Flow cytometry methods for deep immune profiling.
- B-cell and T-cell defects in CVID patients.
- Correlation of the immune phenotype with the clinical manifestations of CVID.
Martín Pérez Andrés, PhD is Professor of Immunology at the University of Salamanca. His research has been focused on the study of normal B differentiation and changes with age, and the development of new methods for the diagnosis and classification of B cell pathologies, including B cell neoplasms, primary and secondary immunodeficiencies and autoimmunity.
